Sean from Running Without Sound
So the other night I was watching a few short films and a couple caught my eye . The first one I liked was called Running Without Sound (2004) which maybe not in Mudge Boy shorts status but there was a lot to like about it . Schoolboy runner Sean (played by the wonderfully named Shad Sagger) whose deaf , falls for fellow runner Derek played by Trace Barnes while Sean's friend 'hunky runner' looks on , well looking hunky and like any shirtless hunk he knows sign language too .

Time for a date - Sean makes his move Next after a run around the neighbourhood during physical education , Sean summons up all his courage to ask dreamy Derek on a date . Well all right he doesn't , he wants to go on some running sessions but just with him . Alas for Sean , 'Dreamy D' has a running partner , but he invites our him in .Then in Derek's crib ,when Derek is called downstairs unexpectedly, our hero glances into his crushes secret diary which as you would expect for a secret diary is right there on the bookshelf .
Deamy D walks in and catches Sean reading his secret diary
'' What ! Dreamy D has a crush on Hunky Runner ?''
Derek walks back in the room and catches Sean in the act , saying that his secret diary is ' private '. Sean moves to go , but Dreamy D says 'Hold on ' and the following happens ....

Yes the sequence is a tad overlong , and your thinking ''aw their going to kiss '' but the kiss never happens .Its an odd film as it ends well pretty much with their desire unresolved .Do they go out ?, or are they now just friends ?does hunky runner end up on the skool wrestling team or go into modeling for Abercrombie and Fitch ?
I did enjoy Shads Saggers acting and I wondered where is he now , well of course hes in a boy band called 'SkyLine' who are on one awesome mission to take the world by storm and embark on the greatest adventure of their lives.

Shads a Skyline Sweetheart
I say good luck to Shad and the Skyboiz ,particularly as their my space includes a fan section where fans of all ages can declare their love for the boiz .Shad has captured fans dreams as the boy next door or as hes called 'Skyline Sweat heart ' and I loved the photo of fan Leo holding his handmade Valentine's card asking if Shad could be his Valentine .Equally heartwarming was Shads declaration of joy in finding his 'brothers in the band' ...
