Scans of Jake Gyllenhaal/Source Code in Empire (Russia) magazine

"I’m very pleased (and surprised) to admit that Jake Gyllenhaal delivers one of the best performances of his career in Source Code, finally proving why he’s one of Hollywood’s most successful actors. Vera Farmiga was equally delightful, and Jeffery Wright, surprisingly cast in a villainous role, delivered his usual level of brilliance. Michelle Monaghan gave an adequate, non-career defining, performance, but she more than makes up for her lackluster delivery by being absolutely gorgeous (and, yes, sometimes being downright attractive can redeem a mediocre performance).

"Gyllenhaal is brilliant, often he can seem dull and bored, but this film has him leaping from confusion to adoration and back again, he’s angry but with a spot of heroism. The stoned look that often glazes over his face, which works well in Donnie Darko where his character is drugged up to his eyeballs, but is off-putting in others, is gone, and the new Jake wonderfully guides and navigates you through the twisted plots and theories of the film.
