Yes its the lovely hunky Christen Cooke (who was rumoured to be playing Maxie's first serious boyfriend in Skins maybe it was the obligatory Kai Z Feng photo shoots that put him off ! cant think why ) who will be playing a descendant of Van Helsing in the new Brit TV Drama Demons .
Christian explains what drew him to the role ...
“The thing I like most about Luke is that he is someone you can relate to. He is not a superhero figure like Robin the Boy Wonder or someone you even necessarily look at and think ‘it’d be so good to be like him’. He’s just a normal kid who has had this immense pressure of a destiny put on his shoulders and is forced to deal with it. I think the audience will be able to follow his journey as he discovers what he has to do and what he physically can do. Luke is so focused so driven , he's got no time for a girlfriend or boyfriend .The audience is part of the journey and I think that is quite cool. He starts off quite normal, and not that great at the smiting but then as the series progresses he becomes quite a heroic character I think.”
And did Christan have to work out for the series ?
''I was taught a blend of martial arts. My trainer was a specialist in Thai boxing, boxing and loads of other different martial arts, he has trained Jared Padalecki who's in Supernatural . He taught me various moves from different disciplines, often we worked out , stripped to the waist , which at first I was a bit unsure about , but the more I got into it the better it felt .I think it is important that when the character does fight it doesn’t look too Jackie Chan style, but looks random. Luke has got really quick reactions and he is powerful but the style of fighting varies; he is always thinking how he can take them down in the best and quickest way possible – even if it might not be technically perfect.''
Warning contains brief shirtless scene.
Christian and his amazing jaw line will also star in 'Trinity' apparently Brit Tv's answer to 'Gossip Girl ' . Christain will be playing Dorian who is president of the Dandelion Club . Christain explains more about the show .
'' The Dandelion Club are an aristocratic elite society who can get away with murder. We have a new warden called Warden (Claire Skinner) and she and the student rep are trying to abolish this club. Myself and the Dean (Charles Dance) are trying to keep it and its traditions. There are lots of love triangles and there's a whole bigger picture going on with scientific tests that the Dean and Cooper (Paul Hunter) are carrying out on one of the students. I've seen the first two episodes and it's really quite funny. There's a lot of sex, drinking, rude language and obscene scenes. I think it's going to make good viewing when it eventually comes out. ''
Lovely .
